The Delhi government and MCD are collaborating to reduce pollution: Oberoi, Mayor

During her inspection of the Punjabi Bagh pollution hotspot in west Delhi on Wednesday, MCD Mayor Shelly Oberoi said that the AAP administration and the municipal body are collaborating to reduce pollution.

In her battle against pollution, she urged the populace to work with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).

In order to assess the severity of Delhi’s air pollution, Oberoi is located at ground zero. In Punjabi Bagh, she used a water sprinkling equipment by herself.

She gave the staff orders to liberally spray water with dust suppression powder in extremely polluted areas of west Delhi during the inspection. Strict measures will also be implemented against people who break waste regulations by burning trash in public. She said that building operations need to be strictly prohibited in the area.

She remarked that in order to reduce pollution, the MCD is acting like a war on the issue. Authorities have been instructed to stop any open burning of trash, unlawful debris disposal, and dust pollution on highways and construction sites under their control. These teams are issuing challans of offenders.

On this occasion, key authorities like Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Kumar, West Zone, Councilor Sahil Gangwal, and others were present.
