The entire nation echoes the sentiment of surpassing the mark of 400 seats on June 4th, as articulated by Prime Minister Modi at the Andhra Pradesh rally

In the aftermath of the Election Commission’s proclamation of the Lok Sabha election timetable, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expeditiously intertwined the result date, June 4th, with the NDA’s rallying cry of ‘Ab Ki Baar, 400 Paar’.

“The resounding chorus across the nation is ‘4th of June, Beyond 400’. For a prospering India, transcending the threshold of 400; for a flourishing Andhra Pradesh, surpassing 400,” he articulated during the inaugural joint rally of the BJP-TDP-Jana Sena alliance at Boppudi village in Palnadu district, following their recent coalition.

Labelling the Congress and Andhra Pradesh’s ruling party, YSRCP, as “two sides of the same coin,” the Prime Minister implored the people of the state not to repeat the “grave error” of perceiving them as distinct entities. He elucidated that both entities are controlled by the same lineage, thus essentially being identical. Notably, the Andhra Pradesh segment of the Congress is helmed by YSRCP’s president and Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy’s sister, YS Sharmila.

Advocating for a dual governance approach for the advancement of Andhra Pradesh, Modi emphasised the bolstering of the NDA through alliances with the TDP and Jana Sena. He pledged that the NDA would advance both regional aspirations and national interests in tandem.

The convergence marked the return of TDP president and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to the NDA after a six-year hiatus. Additionally, it signified a decade-long hiatus since both Modi and Naidu shared a platform at an electoral gathering. Naidu had departed from the NDA before the 2019 elections to align with the Congress. Following his defeat in the 2019 AP assembly polls, Naidu maintained a neutral stance, maintaining equidistance between the NDA and UPA.

Amidst a buoyant atmosphere, Modi and Naidu shared several jovial moments, evoking applause from the sizable audience.

Termed ‘prajagalam’ or ‘voice of the people,’ the public meeting witnessed Modi’s criticism of the YSRCP-led government, alleging rampant corruption among its ministers. “The people of Andhra Pradesh have pledged to oust the corrupt government and usher in an NDA government both at the centre and in the state,” he asserted.

Commending Naidu and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan, the Prime Minister extolled their prolonged advocacy for the rights of the populace and the development of Andhra Pradesh.

Modi highlighted the NDA government’s sanctioning of 11 central institutions between 2014 and 2019 to establish Andhra Pradesh as an educational hub. He pledged to advance infrastructure projects in the state while fostering a port-led blue economy.

Invoking Telugu pride, Modi celebrated the legacy of TDP founder NT Rama Rao, underscoring his unwavering advocacy for Telugu self-respect, impoverished communities, and farmers. He lauded the NDA government’s tribute to NTR on his centenary by issuing a commemorative coin in his honour. Additionally, he emphasised the NDA’s homage to another revered Telugu leader, PV Narasimha Rao, by posthumously conferring Bharat Ratna upon him, contrasting it with what he deemed the Congress’s disrespectful treatment of him.
