Jabalpur Police has busted a gang involved in tampering with ATMs of banks and withdrawing money. The police have arrested three people, including an engineering student. Superintendent of Police (SP) Siddharth Bahuguna said on Wednesday that the accused used to target only ATM machines of a particular company. The accused have been arrested from the Garha area of ​​Jabalpur city on Tuesday.

He said that several ATM cards, a car, Rs 65 thousand cash, screwdrivers and other such tools and two mobile phones have been seized from the accused. The arrested accused have been identified as Vijay Yadav (25) and Gagan Katiyar (23), engineering students from Kanpur, and Ajit Kumar Singh (40), residents of Varanasi.

The SP said that the police came to know about the gang when an employee of the software company servicing these ATMs lodged a complaint with the Sanjeevani Nagar police station. He said that the complainant received a message on a mobile phone on the morning of June 1 about a technical fault in an ATM from Garha area. When he reached the spot, he saw that a person was extracting money with tweezers by inserting a screwdriver into the machine.

Withdraw 77 thousand rupees

He told that seeing the complainant coming there, the person fled from there. Later investigation revealed that a total of Rs 77,000 was withdrawn from ATMs through nine transactions, which were not visible in the debit records of the machine.

Used to take ATM from friends and relatives

Bahuguna said that during the investigation it was found that the accused had taken ATM cards from friends or relatives to carry out the crime. He had also taken ATM cards of poor laborers by giving them 500 or 1,000 rupees. The card was only used to activate the machine. Later, money was withdrawn using tools like screwdrivers and tweezers.

The SP said that the three accused have confessed to withdrawing money from ATMs made by the same company in Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Uttarakhand, West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh. He told that Jabalpur police is in touch with the police of other states for a detailed investigation of the matter.

On June 24, on the day of Snan Purnima, the three deities will be bathed. Raja Dibyasingh Deb of Puri will clean the bathing place. After this the deities will be dressed in clothes and taken towards Anasara's house. It is believed that the deities become ill after bathing. After this religious rituals related to Anasara will be done, which will last for the next 15 days.

Rath Yatra will be held on July 12 without devotees

SJTA Chief Administrator Krishna Kumar said the world famous Rath Yatra will be held on July 12 without devotees. On the day of Rath Yatra, the chariots of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Goddess Subhadra will be pulled to the Gundicha temple, which is about three kilometers away from the main temple. The Rath Yatra will start on July 12 at 8.30 am and the process of pulling the chariots will start from 4 pm. After this, the three deities will be brought back to the main temple on 23 July.
