The government prioritized Udhampur’s development: Minister

In an effort to make up for the “lapses of over a half of century” of the Congress rule, Jitendra Singh, a union minister and BJP candidate from the Udhampur Lok Sabha constituency, said on Tuesday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was not only completely familiar with the topography as well as the advantages and constraints of this region, but had also been consistently forthcoming in giving priority to the development.

“It is not an ordinary thing that the country’s prime minister thinks of Udhampur and its people in such minute detail,” Singh said, adding that he wanted to return the following time to be presented with a Kalari (cheese product).

Singh said, “Udhampur has been denied any progress for over 60 years, and the majority of the legislators elected from this area chose to tend to their own vested interests rather than championing the cause of the people. Udhampur just acquired a road network ten years after 2014, and for the last three years running, it has been ranked in the top three districts in India for the development of rural roads under the Central PMGSY project.

He went on to say that the national Shahpur-Kandi project was resurrected after 30 years during these 10 years thanks to PM Modi’s patience.
