The state government approved the introduction of a new generation of courses at government engineering institutions in Kerala on Tuesday.
The implementation of new-generation B Tech and MTech courses in state-run engineering institutions in Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur, and Palakkad was authorized by the state cabinet meeting, which was presided over by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in this district of north Kerala.
According to a CMO statement, the new M-Tech courses offered include robotics and automation, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence and data science, structural engineering, robotics and automation, and engineering design.
It said that each stream has been allocated up to eighteen seats apiece.
According to the statement, the new courses assigned to the B-tech category were Cyber Physical System and Electronics and Communications Engineering.
It also said that the new courses would be taught by the current faculty members.
