The Ministry of Culture hosts an IAADB curtain-raiser and logo-launching event

The India Art Architecture Design Biennale (IAADB ’23) curtain raiser event and logo unveiling were both coordinated by the Ministry of Culture and took place yesterday night at the National Gallery of Modern Art in Delhi.

The first India Art Architecture Design Biennale will take place in December 2023, with activities planned in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, according to a video message from Shri. G Kishan Reddy, the Union Minister for Culture, Tourism, and DONER. For the Biennale’s success, he sent his warmest wishes.

The keynote talk for the occasion was given by Smt. Meenakashi Lekhi, Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture. The India Art Architecture Biennale, she said, “promises to shine as a light in India’s rich festival tapestry, striving to exhibit the country’s architectural and creative genius on the international arena. The splendor of this Biennale’s international equivalents is mirrored here, and it also offers sheer delight in addition to inspiration. By bringing together grassroots craftspeople and modern designers, the Biennale will spark conversations, innovation, and cooperation, advancing the creative economy.

In her introductory comments, Smt. Mugdha Sinha, the Joint Secretary, gave a preview of the approaching Biennale. She said that the Biennale would be held in the renowned Red Fort from December 9 to December 15, 2023. Each day of the event will be devoted to a different subject, which will be organized by professionals in the area, and will be explored via exhibits and panel discussions. Doors and gates, fascinating gardens, breathtaking stepwells, magnificent temple architecture, modern marvels of independent India, the current face of indigenous design, and the importance of women in architecture are just a few of the subjects covered.

It was also said that the India Art Architecture Design Biennale 2023 will promote a thorough discussion among practitioners and experts in the fields of art, architecture, and design in order to prepare India for its participation in the Venice Biennale in 2024. The Biennale seeks to break down barriers related to age, gender, and genre by elevating contemporary designers, curators, architects, and thought leaders. Additionally, it was said that the Biennale would herald the start of the Red Fort’s Development of Cultural Spaces initiative and is in line with the Prime Minister’s agenda.

Diplomats, artists, architects, designers, curators, government officials, gallerists, and museum professionals were among the notable attendees at the event. The jazz quintet “Capital Three’s” mesmerizing performance elevated the evening.
