The train reached Nirmali in Bihar after 87 years, people worshiped and raised slogans in support of PM Modi: Piyush Goyal
Rail service between Nirmali and Nirmali and Saraigarh in Mithilanchal region is expected to start soon after 87 years. A railway engine reached Nirmali on Sunday during the trial run. Officials are hoping to get permission from the Safety and Technical Authority of the Indian Railways in a few days. After the earthquake in Mithilanchal in 1934, the railway section between Nirmali to Saraigad was suspended, which destroyed the meter gauge railway line, which was connected to two places.
After reaching the engine to Nirmali, the local residents organized the prayer and welcomed it in the traditional style. Construction of Kosi Mahasetu for rail and road has also been completed and it has been commissioned for general public. Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee laid the foundation stone for the construction of a railway bridge over the Kosi river and named it Kosi Mahasetu.
'Slogans in support of PM Modi'
Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal wrote on 'Koo', "After the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, after 87 years, the construction of the railway line up to Nirmali in Bihar was completed, on which the train speed trial was done. After realizing the decades-old dream, people worshiped in front of the engine and shouted slogans in support of PM Modi. "
Railway Minister Goyal has also interviewed a link to a media report. According to the report, on hearing the city of the train, people started shouting slogans of 'Modi hai to mukhin hai'.
How long does the passenger train travel to Nirmali station?
Officials told that the department will be informed about the success of the speed trial. After this, the date and time of passenger train operations will be decided. According to the officials, the passenger train can start operating soon till Nirmali station. It is to be known that after the construction of Rail Mahasetu on the Kosi River, railway service was restored by PM Modi on 18 September 2020, inaugurating the Asanpur Kupaha station on 18 September 2020. From the same day, the passenger train from Saraigarh via Kosi Mahasetu is coming to Kupha railway station.
