Three Myanmar nationals are among the 11 people detained in Mizoram with heroin worth Rs. 23 lakh
In the past five days, eleven persons, including three citizens of Myanmar, have been detained in Mizoram carrying heroin worth more than Rs 23 lakh, according to authorities.
Since Friday, searches by the Excise and Narcotics Department at seven sites in the Aizawl and Serchhip districts have yielded 913.8 grammes of heroin, according to the department.
During the narcotics operations in Serchhip, 434 grammes of heroin were found. According to them, seven residents were detained.
At Aizawl, three citizens of Myanmar, totaling four persons, were detained. They said that 346 grammes of heroin in all had been taken from them.
According to authorities, the suspects were detained under the 1985 Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
