To investigate the violence in Manipur, the CBI files 6 cases and creates a SIT

According to CBI sources, six cases have been filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to look into the violence in Manipur.
According to police, two criminals on bikes are accused of throwing a low-intensity improvised explosive device (IED) at the gate of MLA Soraisam Kebi’s house on Thursday. “The event did not result in any casualties. The explosion did not result in any significant damage, except for a few holes in the ground, an officer said.

The two motorbikes detonated an IED at Soraisam Kebi, an Naoriya Pakhanglakpa MLA,’s home in the Imphal West hamlet of Ningthemcha Karong, according to the Manipur Police.
An improvised explosive device, or IED, is a bomb made out of poisonous, toxic, pyrotechnic, or incendiary substances and intended to kill or disable people or vehicles. IEDs may sometimes be employed to delay, disrupt, or divert an opposing force in order to enable a different kind of assault.

Kuldiep Singh, the Manipur government’s security adviser, stated earlier on Thursday that the situation in the Northeast state remained calm and under control since no violent incidents were recorded in the previous 48 hours.

Singh said that the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had authorized a relief package of Rs 101.75 crore to help the displaced Manipur residents.
Following Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s instruction to the state administration to submit a proposal to his ministry for such a package, the MHA approved the assistance package for the displaced in Manipur.

In all, 896 weapons, 11,763 rounds of ammunition, and 200 various types of explosives have been found so far, according to Singh, who was appointed security adviser to the Manipur government at the beginning of May due to the violence that has been escalating in the state.

A total of 140 firearms were turned in at various locations in Manipur on June 2, a day following Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s plea on June 1. SLR 29, Carbine, AK, INSAS Rifle, INSAS LMG,.303 Rifle, 9mm,.32, M16 rifle, smoke gun, tear gas, locally produced handgun, shock gun, modified rifle, JVP, and grenade launcher were among the weapons turned in.

Shah has also urged the people of Manipur to uphold peace and not listen to rumors.

Following an order from the Manipur High Court on April 19, violence broke out on May 3 during a demonstration called by the All Tribals Students Union (ATSU) to oppose the demand for the inclusion of Meitei/Meetei in the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category.
