To support ‘Fit India,’ L-G wants to build a sports center in each hamlet in Delhi

Qutubgarh hamlet is now a model village thanks to the opening of a DDA sports facility on Tuesday by Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena. The Rs 2.5 million building has jogging tracks, an open gym, and courts for badminton, volleyball, and kabaddi. The property also has a 216 square meter air-conditioned multipurpose hall.

“Sports are a vital component of our fitness regimen. Understanding this, the prime minister started the “Fit India” program in 2019 to help make physical activity a regular part of our lives. The movement is now wildly successful. Many Qutubgarh players will undoubtedly represent India abroad and win medals and honors for their nation, according to Saxena.

Saxena praised the DDA’s contribution to Qutubgarh’s growth and said that the goal was to build a sports center in each Delhi village. He declared partnerships with the Indian Army and Indian Oil to provide seasoned instructors for cutting-edge training facilities.

Having previously built 16 sports complexes, 3 mini complexes, 2 public golf courses, 17 swimming pools, and 40 multi-gyms, DDA has made a substantial contribution to the capital’s sports infrastructure.

In addition, Dwarka is home to centers of excellence for a number of sports, including hockey, football, tennis, judo, weightlifting, boxing, wrestling, and kabaddi. A public golf course is being created in Sector 24 Dwarka, while an aquatics facility is set to open in Sector 33 Rohini.
