Two ladies out of five accused of stealing Rs five lakh

Yesterday, a criminal conspiracy, fraud, and forgery complaint was filed at the Basti Jodhewal police station against five individuals, two of whom are women. The accused defrauded the victim of Rs 5 lakh by fabricating documentation of a land that never belonged to them.

The residents of Katani Kalan, Balwinder Singh, Gursewak Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Inderpreet Kaur, and Ramandeep Kaur have been named as the suspects.

Sanjay Sharma of Salem Tabri has filed a complaint, and a case has been opened.

According to the complaint, when he was searching to invest money in real estate, two ladies who lived next door to his brother-in-law, Krishan Lal, allegedly showed him a piece in Kakowal Abadi. Both said that Balwinder Singh is the rightful owner of the site. In completing the transaction, Harbhajan and Gursewak Singh served as real estate brokers.

The complaint said that after discussions, a contract of Rs 16.90 lakh was reached. He handed the accused Balwinder an advance of Rs 5 lakh on several occasions. Notably, Balwinder had presented papers pertaining to the site and asserted his ownership of it. He was horrified to learn, however, that Balwinder had not really owned that plot but had instead assumed the identity in order to commit fraud when the property record was checked.
