Two People Arrested in Goa for Abusing Mother and Her Daughter, 24 Years Old
According to an official on Tuesday, the Goa police have detained two men for reportedly harassing a lady and her 24-year-old daughter in a hamlet close to Mapusa town, some 10 km away, on many occasions in exchange for sexual favors.
The two suspects, named as Mohammad Ilahi (25), and Shahrukh Kareli (24), were taken into custody on Monday, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (Mapusa), Jivba Dalvi.
The accused and the victims, a 52-year-old mother and her daughter, reside in the same neighborhood. The lady said that the two males would mistreat her and her children and make offensive remarks about them. They also intimidated them and asked for sexual favors from them on many occasions, he said.
According to Dalvi, a complaint was made against the accused pair at the Colvale police station under sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 509 (word, gesture, or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman), and 506 (criminal intimidation).
