Weather Updates: During an intense heatwave, Gujarat issued an orange alert

As a result of an extreme heatwave, the Meteorological Department issued an orange signal for many districts in Gujarat on Monday. Anand, Surat, Bhavnagar, Rajkot, Gandhinagar, Patan, Mehsana, Banaskantha, and Ahmedabad are among the impacted regions. According to the agency, there is also a possibility that the heatwave will worsen in the Saurashtra area. It said that a severe heatwave is now affecting Keshod in Junagadh and that eight cities in Gujarat are also suffering from heatwave conditions.

The agency said that “the heatwave will persist across various districts until May 24.”The highest temperature is predicted to be between 41 and 42°C (105.8 and 107.6°F) or higher, according to the department’s orange advisory. A yellow notice has also been issued by the agency for the areas of Sabarkantha and Amreli. Deesa in Banaskantha reported a maximum temperature of 45.3 degrees Celsius, with temperatures as high as 45 degrees Celsius recorded around Ahmedabad.
