The Philippines has signed a deal with India for the purchase of the world's most dangerous BrahMos supersonic missile. Remundo Alfante, under-secretary in the Defense Department of the Philippines, signed the deal with Ambassador of India Shambhu Kumaran at Camp Aguinaldo, the headquarters of the Philippines' forces.
Those who are understanding that this is just a minor appearance of a missile is a deal, it is not so. Let us tell you that just a few days ago, President of Pakistan Arif Alvi had said that he is scared of this missile of India.
Will prove to be a big danger for China
The Philippines and China are face to face on the South China Sea and in such a situation, this missile designed by India and Russia can prove to be the biggest threat to China.
Last year Russia acceded to the Indian government's request to seek approval for export of supersonic cruise missile BrahMos to a third country, taking into account security requirements.
The Philippines and China were face-to-face on the South China Sea in August last year. On August 24, 2020, Philippines Defense Minister Deafil Lorenzana accused China of illegally seizing the South China Sea along the Philippines border.
The dispute between the Philippines and China over the South China Sea over the decades of scarf Showal has been going on for many decades. The controversy had increased so much that a protest was lodged by the Foreign Ministry of the Philippines, and even before China.
70 countries of the world want BrahMos
Before the Philippines, Vietnam has also expressed its willingness to buy this missile. Not only Philippines and Vietnam but also 70 countries of the world are willing to include this missile in their armies. Most of these countries are those who have been troubled by the increasing aggression of China.
Apart from Vietnam and the Philippines, many countries in the world want to buy this missile, including Brazil, Chile, South Korea, Algeria, Greece, South Africa, Malaysia, Thailand, Egypt, Singapore and Bulgaria. The troubled coastal countries from China had requested India to give them BrahMos missile almost a decade ago.
Saudi Arabia and UAE also expressed desire
Apart from the troubled countries of China, the Gulf countries also want to acquire this missile. The missile was mentioned in December 2020 when Indian Army Chief General MM Narwane went on a 4-day visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia.
The UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar have expressed willingness to buy the missile. At present, discussions on BrahMos deal with these countries are going on and it is in the initial stage.
The ground-to-air version of the BrahMos missile was deployed on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) following a confrontation with China in May 2020. On 15 June, when there was violence in the Galvan Valley, the army got the approval to deploy the BrahMos missile.
Difficult to stop after launch
Subsequently, supersonic missiles were deployed along the eastern and western borders. It is impossible for any missile defense system to stop the world's fastest missile after its launch.
The missile has received applause from the Indian Air Force (IAF) for its capabilities. BrahMos can now be launched from Sukhoi to a fighter jet like Tejas.
It is India's first indigenous missile. In the year 2016, it was approved by the Central Government to prepare a new regiment of this missile and then to deploy it in Arunachal Pradesh near China.
