He questioned why he was silent about these states? Why is Congress national leader Rahul Gandhi refraining from going to places where his party is in direct competition with the BJP? Vijayan called Gandhi a good 'good tourist' and sarcastically said that his visit to Kerala will give a boost to the tourism industry of the state.

There are a record 1,45,384 new cases of corona infection in one day in India. After this, the total number of people infected in the country has increased to 1,32,05,926. According to the Health Ministry, the number of active patients again increased to more than 10 lakhs after about six and a half months. The ministry said that 794 more people died due to the virus, the highest number for any single day since October 18 last year. So far 1,68,436 people have died in the country due to infection.

The daily number of infected people in the country has increased for the 31st consecutive day. At present 10,46,631 infected people are under treatment, which is 7.93 percent of the total number of people infected so far. The recovery rate in the country has come down to 90.80 percent. There were at least 1,35,926 active cases on 12 February after the first peak of infection in the country. This number was 1.25 percent of the total cases at that time.
