Big Prediction From Waqar Younis For Indian Maestro

Waqar Younis, a legendary bowler for Pakistan, believes that Virat Kohli has many more hundreds left in him and that his cricketing career is far from over. Against Pakistan in the Super 4 match of the current Asia Cup, Kohli showed his maturity. The 34-year-old batsman produced a magnificent century and set new benchmarks for 13,000 ODI runs and the quickest time to the 47th ODI ton. In another masterful performance, Kohli silenced many who questioned his form following his lackluster performance against Pakistan in the group-stage match.

With his century on Monday, Kohli now has 47 ODI tons under his belt and is only two from matching the great Sachin Tendulkar’s total of 49 tons.

Younis discussed the differences between Tendulkar and Kohli and predicted that the 34-year-old will complete his career with many more hundreds.

“What sets him apart from other players, including Sachin Tendulkar. When he was done, Sachin Tendulkar had 49 ODI hundreds. Virat is far from concluding his career or retiring from cricket, I can assure you of that. More (hundreds) than anybody would imagine will wind up in his possession, Waqar told Star Sports.

The greatest ODI partnership for India against Pakistan was Kohli and KL Rahul’s unbroken 233 runs for the third wicket. In order to demonstrate his fitness, Rahul also struck a century in his return game. Rahul and Kohli ran a bunch of rapid doubles to put Pakistan under strain throughout the whole match.

Waqar said that he felt bad for Rahul since he had to run a lot because Kohli doesn’t miss a run when he is in the middle and was making his comeback from an injury layoff.

“I felt bad for KL Rahul since he had to run with this guy while recovering from an injury. He takes off like a madman. Because he wants to be the greatest, he doesn’t skip a single or an additional run. Whether batting, fielding, or sprinting between the wickets, he strives to be the greatest at everything he does. And his effort on fitness is something he likes doing for himself, said Waqar.
