Cricket Australia will take an affidavit from Channel 7 that Langer cannot interview players
Cricket Australia is understood to be seeking an undertaking from broadcaster Channel 7 to ensure former head coach Justin Langer, who has had a strained relationship with some of the team's senior players, cannot interview players in a busy summer.

Langer was Australia's coach between 2018 and 2022 and has decided to step down from his position. Langer had signed a commentary deal with Channel 7 in July this year.

The former Australian opener had hinted in a much-hyped interview that he was let down by some senior players like Pat Cummins and Aaron Finch and this led to his resignation as the head coach.

Cricket Australia is understood to have spoken to Channel 7 about Langer not being able to interview the players. There are reports that Cricket Australia has been assured by Channel 7 that Langer will not interview any players before or after the match.

Cricket Australia CEO Nick Hockley denied Langer's allegations and said he was disappointed by some of the players' unnecessary criticism of the former coach.

Australia's busy summer of cricket will begin with a Test series against the West Indies in Perth on 30 November. The first Test will be played in Perth.
