“Depression Owing To…”: Document Alleges Ishan Kishan Has Taken A “Vacation From Cricket”

When Team India begins a two-match Test series against South Africa on December 26, they will be without three important players. Due to a finger injury sustained during the white-ball leg of the series, Ruturaj Gaikwad was allegedly cut from the team, although bowler Mohammed Shami has not left for the Rainbow Nation as he continues to heal from an ankle ailment. Ishan Kishan, the wicketkeeper-battler, has withdrawn from the series due to “personal reasons”.

The Indian Express has revealed that Kishan called in owing to “mental fatigue,” mostly from non-stop touring, however, the BCCI did not disclose the precise reason for his decision to withdraw.

“He told the team management that he needed a temporary vacation from cricket due to mental exhaustion. Everyone approved of it, according to the report.

This year, Kishan has been a member of every Indian team. But in that time, the gamer hasn’t completed the necessary amount of playing time. Additionally, he only participated in two World Cup games because Shubman Gill was sidelined with dengue.

The BCCI had already disclosed that Kishan had withdrawn from the Test series for “personal reasons”.

“With personal reasons, Ishan Kishan has asked to be withdrawn from the BCCI’s next Test series against South Africa. As a result, the wicketkeeper was removed from the Test team, according to a press statement issued by BCCI secretary Jay Shah.

Regarding Kishan’s successor, KS Bharat will join the team in his stead.
The release further said, “KS Bharat has been named as a replacement by the men’s selection committee.”
KS Bharat (wk), Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, Mohd. Siraj, Mukesh Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah (VC), Prasidh Krishna, Rohit Sharma (C), Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and KL Rahul
