Erik Ten Hag claims that Luke Shaw is unlikely to represent England in EURO 2024 due to his injury struggles with Manchester United

Luke Shaw of England will likely miss Euro 2024 after Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag said the defender was having difficulty playing in the FA Cup final.

The injury-plagued 28-year-old left-back has only made 15 appearances this season; his last match was a victory against Luton three months ago.

Shaw is now unlikely to play in the FA Cup final on May 25 against Manchester City after having been anticipated to recover from his most recent muscle issue in early May.

Shaw has little time to demonstrate his fitness for the tournament, as England manager Gareth Southgate is expected to announce his preliminary Euro 2024 team just days after the championship game at Wembley.

Early May was when Shaw was supposed to return from his most recent muscle injury, but Ten Hag just disclosed that the Euro 2020 final goalscorer had experienced a setback in his recuperation.

Ten Hag was questioned on Thursday about Shaw’s and Harry Maguire’s chances of making it to the FA Cup final and Euro 2024. Maguire has missed three games due to a personal muscular ailment.

Ten Hag told reporters, “I can’t say (if they are available) for England; that’s not up to me.”

We’re working on it, however, and I believe Harry Maguire has a good chance of being available for the cup final. We make plans forĀ  him.

Luke is a more intricate person. Let’s assume that there is now a lower but still extremely tiny possibility that he will survive.

“We need to find out how far he has come since he had the setback.”

England travels to Germany, where they take on Serbia on June 16 to start their Euro 2024 campaign. They play warm-up matches against Bosnia-Herzegovina on June 3 and Iceland on June 7.
