First ODI match between IND-W and AUS-W: weather forecast for Mumbai and pitch report for Wankhede Stadium

In women’s cricket, India will next play Australia in a three-match ODI series. They kicked began their bilateral trip with a bang, having already won the one-off Test. India will play in this format for the first time since July.

They tied Bangladesh 1-1 in their most recent ODI series. Bangladesh won the first match of the trip by a score of 40 runs via DLS. With only three runs conceded and four wickets taken in three overs by Jemimah Rodrigues, India won the second ODI by a margin of 108 runs. India equaled Bangladesh’s score of 225 in the last match, however, they were unable to score one more run to win. Now that they have the opportunity to close the year with a victory, they will be eager to win the series against the Australians.

On December 28, Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai will host the inaugural One-Day International (ODI) between IND-W and AUS-W. Conversely, Australia will be confident going into the next matches after defeating the West Indies in the ODI series. They won the first and third games of the series, defeating the opposition 2-0. The second match was eventually called off because of rain-related disruptions. Seeing whether the Australians can continue in this vein against the Women in Blue will be intriguing.

Report on Pitch:

The Wankhede Stadium’s cricket field has often produced high-scoring matches. The field serves as a batting wicket, and the stadium’s borders are narrow. With its propensity to help spinners, it does somewhat offset the bowlers. Compared to the second half, first-inning scoring averages are greater, giving batting first teams a big edge.

Weather Update:

The weather in Mumbai on December 28 is expected to be largely overcast with a two percent chance of rain. During the day, the temperature should be around 33 degrees Celsius, while at night, it may go as low as 23 degrees. In general, humidity levels should vary from 41% during the day to 59% at night.
