Following a historic victory, Rohit Sharma believes his squad can win on any field

After India’s historic victory over England, captain Rohit Sharma emphasized the team’s capacity to win on every surface, especially rank turners. “On similar wickets, we have won a great deal of matches in the past. Our strongest areas continue to be the turning tracks and pitches where the ball turns. We get balance from it,” Rohit said.

“We have produced results for a long time, and we will continue to produce results. However, there are aspects over which we have no control. For example, we never talk about whether or not we want rank turners. How much can we do in the two days before the game when we are here (at the venues)? The choice and pitch are made by the curators. We possess the power to win on whichever wicket we choose to play on. Everyone knows what sort of pitch it was when we won the Test in South Africa (in Cape Town),” he said.

According to Rohit, the Indian squad has overcome every challenge faced in the first three Test matches. “There were various hurdles in the past three Tests that we participated in. The ball was spinning and the pitch was sluggish in the first Test (Hyderabad). It was (staying) low in Vizag. The wicket became slower as the game went on. Here, for the first three days, it performed well. We saw that the ball was low and spinning today. Pitch formats are similar to this; we get pitches similar to this in India. However, we will also take advantage of rank turners, he said.

They seem to belong: Rohit about young firearms

Rajkot: Rohit Sharma, the captain of India, gave tribute to his team’s youthful and inexperienced players for helping them achieve the team’s historic Test victory. “Obviously, winning a game like that is a great feeling, especially when your team is so young.” Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel were also debutants, and the starting eleven did not play in many Test matches together, according to Rohit. Many of these males are picking up knowledge from their midlife experiences. We gained a lot of knowledge about how we played in Hyderabad and how we won in Vizag.

According to Rohit, India had to put forth a lot of effort considering the situation (senior player injury). We were aware that winning the series would not be an easy feat for us to accomplish. With several of our front-line players out as well, we have (had) to work really hard,” Rohit said. “Many thanks to these young lads who have shown a great deal of character in their arrival. It seems that they want to be here and feel like they belong,” he said.
