For Ishan, no. If it had been, Harbhajan would have substituted an unpopular Indian celebrity for KS Bharat in the WTC Final

On June 7, Team India will return to competition when it plays Australia in the World Test Championship final. Due to injuries, there have been a lot of roster changes for the final match, with Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul being forced to sit out. There have been disagreements about who of the two wicketkeepers, KS Bharat and Ishan Kishan, should play in the championship match. Both have travelled with the team.www.theindiaprint.com download 2023 06 02t124127.829 11zon

However, when he was asked the same question during a discussion on Star Sports, former India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh had just a few reservations. While supporting Bharat, Harbhajan said that his response would have been different if the BCCI had selected Wriddhiman Saha for the Test team.

“I don’t believe so, no. KS Bharat currently represents India on the pitch. I would suggest to cast Wriddhiman Saha if he were there. He is a superior goalie and has more experience. If KL Rahul were well, I too would have chosen to play him over KS Bharat, according to Harbhajan.

Since being benched for the home series against Sri Lanka in February of last year, Saha has fallen out of favour with the Indian Test squad. Even before Saha lost his spot in the team, Rishabh Pant was the second-choice wicketkeeper-batter, and the experienced India player was replaced by KS Bharat.

Saha, though, has persisted in turning in good performances in both the 2023 Indian Premier League and local cricket. He and Shubman Gill were a potent opening duo for the Gujarat Titans, who advanced to their second straight final this year. Saha scored 371 runs in 17 games throughout the season.

At the World Test Championship final, India will be going for their first ICC championship in ten years. Under MS Dhoni’s guidance, the team won their last ICC championship in the Champions Trophy in 2013.
