For the Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, ticket sales surpass one million

The Women’s World Cup, which begins in Australia and New Zealand next month, has already sold more than 1 million tickets. According to soccer’s international governing body, this will be the largest attended women’s athletic event in history.

According to a statement from FIFA President Gianni Infantino, 1,032,884 tickets have been purchased as of Friday morning local time in Sydney, exceeding pre-tournament sales for the 2019 edition in France.

The 2023 edition, which will be jointly hosted by Australia and New Zealand, will feature a larger field of 32 teams, up from 24 in France. The tournament consists of 64 matches in total.

Infantino said that he was “delighted to share with the world that FIFA has passed one million tickets sold.” This indicates that 2023 is on course to surpass all previous FIFA Women’s World Cup attendance records with more than a month to go before the tournament’s start. The FIFA Women’s World Cup will be the best FIFA Women’s World Cup ever since the future belongs to women.

At the 2015 Women’s World Cup in Canada, where there were 24 participating countries as opposed to 16 at the previous tournament, there were more than 1.35 million spectators in attendance overall.

At Auckland’s Eden Park, the tournament begins with New Zealand taking on 1995 champion Norway in Group A. At Sydney’s Stadium Australia, Sam Kerr’s Australia squad faces off against Ireland in Group B.
