Hasnain, Dahani, and Qadir Are Selected For Pakistan Shaheens’ Men’s T20 Cricket Squad For The Asian Games

Mohammad Hasnain, Shahnawaz Dahani, and Usman Qadir have been selected to represent Pakistan Shaheens in the men’s T20 cricket competition at the Asian Games, which will take place in Hangzhou, China, from September 28 to October 7.

Hasnain, Dahani, and Qadir have previously represented the Pakistan men’s team abroad, along with Aamir Jamal, Arshad Iqbal, Asif Ali, Haider Ali, and Khushdil Shah.

Qasim Akram, an all-rounder who has played in 40 T20 games and 20 first-class games, will lead the team at the age of 20. Additionally, he led the Pakistan U19 team in the West Indies-hosted ICC U19 World Cup in 2022.

In their first and only participation at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China, the Pakistani men’s team earned a bronze medal. Pakistan Shaheens have performed in Australia, Zimbabwe, and Sri Lanka since May 2023. Shaheens completely destroyed Zimbabwe A in the two four-day tournaments there, but Zimbabwe Select defeated them 4-2 in the 50-over matches.

After defeating India A by 108 runs in the championship match, they went on to win the ACC Men’s Emerging Asia Cup in Sri Lanka in July. However, they came in second place in Darwin, Australia’s six-team Top End T20 Series earlier this month.

Pakistan Shaheens will participate in the competition beginning with the quarterfinal round, which is scheduled for October 3 and 4. The bronze medal match is set for the same day as the semifinals on October 6, the final on October 7, and the semifinals on October 6.
