In Jalgaon, Maharashtra, Sachin Tendulkar’s security guard shoots himself

A State Reserve Police Force jawan (SRPF) who was a part of cricket great Bharat Ratna Sachin Tendulkar’s security detail reportedly shot himself in his hometown of Jamner town on Wednesday, according to a Jalgaon official, in a tragic occurrence.

It has been determined that the dead were Prakash Kapde, who had apparently taken a quick trip to his ancestral home.

Kapde (39) is survived by his brother, his family, his elderly parents, his wife, and their two little children. He also shot himself in the neck with his service pistol.

The event happened at the victim’s residence on Wednesday around 1:30 in the morning, according to Senior Police Inspector Kiran Shinde of Jamner Police Station. The precise circumstances surrounding the reported suicide are now being investigated.

Shinde spoke circumspectly to IANS, saying, “As per preliminary investigations, he may have taken the extreme step owing to certain personal reasons, but we are waiting for the full details of the probe.”

The Jamner Police have filed an accidental death report and sent Kapde’s corpse for an autopsy while they conduct more inquiries and speak with his family, coworkers, and other friends.

Given that a jawan assigned to VVIP protection is involved in the incident, the SRPF is expected to launch an independent investigation into it, according to sources.
