The sole Indian selected for the ICC Men's Test squad of 2022 is wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, who is currently recuperating from the injuries he incurred in a vehicle accident on December 30.

With the bat, the 25-year-old had a fantastic year, scoring 680 runs in 12 innings at an average of 61.81 and a strike rate of 90.90. He finished the year with two century and four fifties. In tests, he hit 21 sixes and had a passable glove game, taking 23 catches and stumping six.

Ben Stokes, the captain of England, who revolutionized the squad with his aggressive style of cricket, has been appointed captain of the Test XI, which also includes Jonny Bairstow and James Anderson as colleagues.
