IND versus AUS: Wasim Jaffer-Michael Vaughan’s Hilarious Banter After Travis Head’s Century

Everyone enjoys Wasim Jaffer and Michael Vaughan’s Twitter banter whenever India plays England since they are considered to be the best of friends. Jaffer and Vaughan re-met at the World Test Championship (WTC) final at the Oval, and fans were treated to yet another spectacular discussion on social media.

It all began when India and Australia faced off in the World T20 final in 2023 in London, where Travis Head hammered a century on Day 1. After Marnus Labuschagne was out soon after the lunch break due to a peach of a delivery from Mohammed Shami, the batter came out to join Steve Smith.

With three wickets in the first two sessions of the WTC final, India seemed to be gaining ground. However, Head and Smith soon put Rohit Sharma’s team under pressure.

Up until Stumps on Day 1, the Australian pair had a 251-run partnership. Head was approaching another half-century while batting at 146 off 156 balls, while Smith was getting close to his century at 95 off 227.

Former cricket players from across the globe lauded middle-order batsman Head for being the first batsman to ever achieve a century in the WTC final. Jaffer also praised Head on Twitter, which prompted Vaughan to slyly poke fun at his pal.

“What a great time to do your first test away from home! Jaffer tweeted, “Well played Travis Head. However, Vaughan quickly replied, choosing to pull the former India opener’s leg.

Wasim, the former captain of England in Test matches, authored “Afternoon Wasim,” while India was under pressure.

Jaffer, who wasn’t one to submit easily, chose to poke fun at his friend by pointing out that his account had lost the blue tick as a result of Elon Musk’s decision to remove it and make it a premium service.

Morning, Michael. If that’s truly you, Jaffer said to Vaughan, “Where’s Your Blue Tick.”

The England legend was finished, though, as he released a video of himself as evidence that the account was in fact his.

“No need for a blue Tick Wasim,” tweeted Vaughan with a video of a giant thumbs-up.

In the meanwhile, India will be looking to get off to a good start on Day 2 and aim to get some early wickets in order to prevent the Head, Smith combination from stealing Rohit’s team’s chance to win the WTC final in 2023.
