India showed off their defensive skills to fend off England after the game began off tentatively. As the first quarter came to an end, the men in blue seized a 1-0 lead thanks to Rajinder Singh’s (13′) successful penalty corner conversion.
England began the second quarter with a goal down and began putting together offensive plays to make up the difference. However, the team coached by Vishnukant Singh kept up their dominance in the final third and kept England from scoring, thus India led 1-0 at the break.

Amir Ali (33′) scored early in the second half to increase the pressure on England. India took control of the game after winning by a score of 2-0. Late in the third quarter, Amandeep Lakra (41′) made another Penalty Corner conversion, increasing India’s advantage. By the third quarter’s finish, India still had a 3-0 advantage.

With just 15 seconds remaining in the game, England was under pressure to produce a successful outcome. India defended well within their own half to stop England from posing any serious problems as they began to show desire to score goals. At the final horn, Araijeet Singh Hundal (58′) scored again, giving India a 4-0 victory.
