IPL 2022: During RCB vs LSG match, 5 accused were arrested from Eden Gardens, were betting from inside the ground

The second playoff match of the 15th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was played between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). In this match, Bangalore defeated Lucknow by 15 runs. During this match, some people were running bets from inside the stadium. Police have arrested five such people. Sources have given information about this on Thursday. The Anti Rowdy Squad (ARS) under the Detective Department (DD) of Kolkata Police made the arrests on Wednesday evening.
The five arrested accused Sunil Kumar, Ajay Kumar, Amar Kumar, Obada Khaleel, and Aniket Kumar are residents of Bihar. Seven mobile phones, a portable router, and cash were recovered from them. It is learned that on the information of their sources, the ARS team reached the F-1 block of the Eden Garden's spectator gallery late on Wednesday night. Three youths from the block caught his attention as they were engaged on their mobile phones instead of watching the match. The ARS arrested him.
Based on their confession, two more people were arrested on Wednesday evening from a private guest house in the New Market area of central Kolkata. ARS sources said that the accused had used the portable router for better internet connectivity within the Eden Gardens premises. The police are interrogating him to know out his associates.
Let us tell you that in this match, Rajat Patidar played an innings of 112 runs in 54 balls while batting brilliantly. With the help of his innings, Bangalore had given a target of 208 runs to Lucknow. In reply, the Lucknow team could only score 193 runs for the loss of 6 wickets and lost the match by 14 runs. Captain KL Rahul scored 79 runs in 58 balls, while Deepak Hooda scored 45 runs in 26 balls. Rajat Patidar was adjudged the player of the match.
