La Masia shines as graduates demonstrate how they can make a difference in helping Barca win the Joan Gamper Trophy

For the Joan Gamper trophy, FC Barcelona and Xavi faced off against Ange Postecoglu and Tottenham Hotspurs yesterday. Barca made a comeback to win the game 4-2.

Both teams had excellent starting lines, although Spurs were without Harry Kane mostly because of his Sunday match against Shakhtar Donetsk. Richarlison began in place of the Englishman as the striker, while other important players in the attack were Ivan Perisic and Giovanni Lo Celso.

Robert Lewandowski began the match as Barcelona’s striker, with Raphinha and Gavi lining up on the flanks.

Within the first three minutes of the game, a cross from the Brazilian player Raphinha resulted in a goal due to a precise finish by Lewandowski.

After Lo Celso’s shot struck the side post in the 24th minute, Oliver Skipp was able to score off a rebound to give Tottenham the equalizer.

Raphina tried to chip the ball into the goal, giving Barcelona another opportunity to score, but Spurs goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario was off his line and was able to recover in time to knock the ball away.

Oliver Skipp’s soaring header from an Ivan Perisic cross resulted in a goal, giving him a hat trick as Spurs sought to win the game.

However, substitutes altered the course of the match as their comeback was enabled by young players from La Masia, their notorious academy.

A number of players, including Abde Ezzalzouli, Ansu Fati, Ferran Torres, and Ilkay Gundogan, demonstrated to Xavi their worth by successfully applying pressure to Spurs in an effort to force a comeback.

After being inserted in the 80th minute, Lamine Yamal stood out as he attempted to take on the Spurs opponents by showcasing his flair, abilities, and trickery.

Yamal, a young player, had an immediate impact by utilizing his outside foot to pass to teammate Ferran Torres, who assisted in securing the second goal.

Marcos Alonso, the fullback for Barcelona, also almost scored on a free kick that he took from the right flank.

But Yamal, who was able to dodge the defender and give the ball to Ferran Torres, who then set up Ansu Fati to score, was at the center of all of Barcelona’s attempts.

The academy’s young players united to score the game’s decisive goal, putting La Masia in the limelight. When Yamal once again dribbled by the opponents and passed to Fermin Lopez, who crossed for Abde to score and secure the comeback win, Yamal was having a wonderful cameo.

Xavi is excited to use the league’s young players and see which of them is prepared for the big stage. As supporters eagerly anticipate the iconic academy being at the forefront of Barcelona’s playstyle, the league and Champions League will require a lot more of the young players.
