Labuschagne’s sleep is disturbed when Warner is sent back by Siraj

Mohammed Siraj sent David Warner back to the pavilion and roused Marnus Labuschagne from his slumber on Day 3, giving India the start they sought. He was obviously the one who would follow.

Funny images depicting Labuschagne’s outrage at being roused from his nap and forced to face the waiting Indian bowlers erupted over social media.

One person wrote, “Labuschagne represents all of us during dull lectures,” while another responded, “When a wicket breaks your lovely snooze. Marnus Labuschagne, get up and shine. The atmosphere online was upbeat and filled with laughs.

Early in Australia’s second innings, Warner was dismissed by Siraj for only one run, having an effect on the game. The batting player misplayed a ball to wicketkeeper KS Bharat, who made an outstanding low catch behind the wickets. Australia had a score of 2/1 after 3.3 overs, giving India some hope.

Prior to that, India finished their first innings at 296 and handed Australia a huge 173-run advantage. Ajinkya Rahane, who returned, produced a masterful innings of 89 runs off 129 balls, while Shardul Thakur added significant value with an innings of 51 runs off 109 balls. On the second day, Ravindra Jadeja too contributed with a quickfire 48 off only 51 balls.

The numbers speak for themselves when it comes to Warner and Siraj’s Test matchups. Warner has scored 43 runs off of Siraj’s bowling in 82 deliveries, but the young Indian bowler has also claimed three of those runs at an average of 14.33.
