After seeing success both on and off the field with City Football Group, Berrada seems to be the right kind of replacement for Richard Arnold, who departed Man United in November.

Having worked with Man City for over ten years, Berrada most recently held the position of chief football operations officer.

The British news agency PA said that it has been informed by Joel and Avram Glazer, the owners of United, that Berrada was chosen after consulting with Jim Ratcliffe, whose company Ineos has reached an agreement to purchase a maximum of 25% of the Premier League team.

United, who announced that Patrick Stewart would remain in his role as interim chief executive for the time being, will announce Berrada’s start date with his new team later.

Omar Berrada has been named as Manchester United’s new CEO, and the team is happy to announce this. United stated in a statement, “The club is determined to put football and performance on the pitch back at the heart of everything we do.” “The first step in this journey is Omar’s appointment.”

“He is currently serving as chief football operations officer for City Football Group overseeing 11 clubs across five continents and, prior to this, held senior roles at Barcelona,” the statement on X, formerly Twitter, said.

“We aspire to restore Manchester United to its former status as a champion team.”
