Rachin Ravindra joins the New Zealand team for the ODI series against Sri Lanka, while Michael Bracewell is released to join the RCB

Rachin Ravindra, a left-arm spin all-rounder, was summoned into the New Zealand ODI team on Saturday to replace off-spin all-rounder Michael Bracewell for the match against Sri Lanka.
In order to fill in for injured English batter Will Jacks during the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) season for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Ravindra receives a call-up after Bracewell was dropped from the New Zealand white-ball team.
Jacks was forced to miss the remainder of the trip and subsequently the IPL after sustaining a muscular injury while fielding in England's ODI match against Bangladesh at Mirpur.
In preparation for the first game of the ODI Series against Sri Lanka at Eden Park on March 25, Ravindra will now convene with the ODI team in Auckland on Wednesday. Ravindra has represented New Zealand in six T20Is, three Tests, but not in ODIs.
Gary Stead, the head coach of New Zealand, expressed his admiration for Ravindra's ongoing growth with the bat and the ball this season across all forms.
In a statement, Stead added, "This will be another fantastic opportunity for him to spend time in the BLACKCAPS environment.
Bracewell, who has participated in 16 T20 Internationals for New Zealand and has amassed 113 runs while taking 21 wickets, has never played in the IPL and was not purchased in the December auction. Now, he will sign up with RCB for his basic salary of INR 1 crore.
Since making his debut last year, Michael has "been a vital contributor to our white ball teams," according to Stead.
It's wonderful that he will have the opportunity to take advantage of the educational possibilities the IPL offers, especially as a spin bowling all-rounder. It's fantastic to have players get more experience in such circumstances with the World Cup taking place in India this year," he said.
In the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 2, Royal Challengers Bangalore will begin their IPL 2023 campaign against the five-time champion Mumbai Indians.
