Rasmus Hojlund of Manchester United is the ‘Happiest Man Alive’ after his first Premier League goal

Following his first Premier League goal on Tuesday to cap off Manchester United’s thrilling 3-2 victory against Aston Villa, Rasmus Hojlund said he was the “happiest man alive.”

When a United corner deflected off John McGinn’s leg and landed on the Dane in the 82nd minute, Hojlund’s goal drought in the league came to an end after 1,027 minutes. A few minutes after swiping it in off the post, the 20-year-old exited the game to a standing ovation.

Although I have been waiting for a long, I am very thrilled. Holland told Amazon Prime, “Right now, I’m the happiest man alive.” It is also evident from the festivities. We prevailed today because we never gave up on ourselves.

Hojlund has not scored a league goal in 14 games since joining from Atalanta in August for a reported £72 million ($91 million).

The Dane, who had already scored five goals for United in the Champions League, waited to score in the Premier League until the 82nd minute when he swung around and sent a shot off the post.

At Old Trafford, United overcame a two-goal deficit to defeat title-chasing Villa, capping a four-game losing streak in all competitions for the hosts.

During his exuberant celebration of his goal, Hojlund seemed on the verge of tears and remarked, “Yes, I am very happy. It has been a while.”

“At this moment, I am the happiest guy alive. It is also evident from the festivities.

Despite a challenging season for Hojlund and Erik ten Hag’s team, the 20-year-old said he never lost confidence in his abilities.

“As the manager has already said, I have scored a few goals in the Champions League, but naturally, it has taken me some time to score in the Premier League. I hope I can simply build on this now that I have it and keep going,” he said.

“I’m happy with my first-ever finish off the post; it was a good finish.” The three of us attackers also deserve congratulations since we showed a great deal of confidence and character today.
