Results from WWE SmackDown: Gunther will defend his championship at WrestleMania against Sheamus and Drew McIntyre

On the most recent SmackDown program, Sheamus and Drew McIntyre's captivating rivalry was seen by WWE fans. Last night, the two once friendly rivals faced off to secure a matchup against Intercontinental champion Gunther at WrestleMania 39.

On Friday Night's SmackDown, Sami Zayn, on the other hand, challenged the undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions Jey Uso. Also, it was their first meeting since Jey viciously assaulted Sami on WWE Raw earlier this month.

a 2023 Royal Rumble champion Cody Rhodes appeared on the most recent SmackDown episode as well. The American Nightmare served as a go-between between Sami and Kevin Owens in the opening moments of Tuesday night's SmackDown segment. The build-up to the much anticipated WrestleMania 39 was another major theme of the program.

Dominic Mysterio and Rhea Ripley vs Santos Escobar and Zelina Vega

Santos Escobar and Zelina Vega of Legado Del Fantasma squared off against Dominic Mysterio and Rhea Ripley of Judgment Day in the first match. Legado Del Fantasma did create a spectacular exhibition in the opening match of the night but it was surely not enough to emerge triumphant. In order to defeat Vega in the Mixed Tag Team bout, Ripley executed a Riptide.

Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan take against Tegan Nox and Emma

The second SmackDown match seemed to be of a similar sort. While Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez seemed to have all of their tools at their disposal to cope with the competition, Tegan Nox and Emma put up a strong show. Liv defeated Emma with an Ob-Livion to win the match and go to WrestleMania.

LA Knight vs. Xavier Woods

The exciting rivalry between LA Knight and New Day reached new heights. The match between Xavier Woods and LA Knight was exhilarating. Woods won the match by catching Knight with BackWoods.

Sheamus vs. Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre and Sheamus competed in the SmackDown main event on Friday night. In a well-publicized WWE Intercontinental Championship No. 1 Contenders Match, the two erstwhile pals squared off. The much-talked-about showdown finished with Sheamus and McIntyre battling to a double count out. Later, it was discovered that Gunther would defend his championship at WrestleMania against both Sheamus and McIntyre in a triple-threat match.
