Sourav Ganguly, a former Indian captain, praised the squad for winning the U19 Women's T20 World Cup in South Africa. At the Senwes Park in Potchefstroom on Sunday, January 29, India's Shafali Verma defeated Grace Scrivens' England by a margin of seven wickets.

India chose to bowl first and bowled their opponents for 68 runs. With six over remaining, The Girls in Blue successfully surpassed the mark. After taking two wickets and allowing just six runs in her four allotted overs, Titas Sadhu was named Player of the Match.

When questioned about his thoughts on India's victory, Ganguly praised the squad for their impressive performance. "Winning a World Cup is amazing. It's a fantastic accomplishment," Ganguly added.

An earlier tweet from Ganguly, who is considered as one of the best cricketers India has ever produced, congratulated the Indian team on their victory on Sunday.

"Congratulations to the Women's Under-19 Team for winning the World Cup. It's a terrific opportunity for the ladies to further their game."

The top run scorers for India were skipper Shafali and her opening partner Shweta Sehrawat. In actuality, Sehrawat led the whole tournament in runs scored. She had three half-centuries, a maximum score of 92 not out, and 297 runs from seven games at an average of 99 and a strike rate of 139.43.

The best Indian bowler was Parshavi Chopra, who had an economy rate of 3.66 and 11 wickets from six games. Additionally, she finished with the second-highest run total in the competition.
