Sports Desk: West Indies bang batsman Chris Gayle is out of the Lanka Premier League. According to reports, he cited personal reasons for withdrawing from the Lanka Premier League. Gayle will be seen in the league as former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan, Munaf Patel, local icon Kusal Perera, Sri Lankan T20 specialists Kusal Mendis and Nuwan Pradeep and England right-arm fast bowler Liam Plunkett among others at the Candy Tuskers.
On Wednesday, the Tuskers gave information about Gayle's withdrawal from the league on his Facebook page, saying that Gayle has decided to withdraw from the tournament due to personal reasons. At present, no information has been given about which player will take place in place of Universe Boss. Gayle appeared in the recently concluded IPL 2020 league where he played 7 matches and during this time he scored the highest innings of 99 runs.
The Tuskers will play in the opening match against the Colombo Kings on 26 November. The other three teams participating in the league are Dambulla Hawks, Gal Gladiators and Jaffna Stallion. 23 matches will be played between these teams. The semi-finals will be held on 13 and 14 December while the final will be played on 16 December.
