Virat Kohli’s retirement is timed by AB de Villiers

What age is ideal for retirement?

There is no one correct response, but the most popular and wise advice that is often given is to give up while you’re ahead. But more often than not, the urge to go on and extend the winning streak has won.

One of the game’s best batsmen, Virat Kohli, will turn 35 in a little over a month and move one year closer to the conclusion of his illustrious playing career.

Nevertheless, the aging celebrity won’t slow down. In addition to being one of the best fielders in the game and being lightning fast between the wickets, Kohli is also still at the top of his game with the bat.

What will be the best moment for Kohli to call it a career? is the main question that has to be answered.

According to his former IPL colleague AB de Villiers, Kohli is presently focused on the 2023 ODI World Cup, which begins in less than 10 days, and doesn’t look too far ahead.

He does believe that the best outcome would be for India to win the world cup and for Kohli to then maybe retire from the one-day format.

“I am aware that he enjoys visiting South Africa (for the 2027 World Cup), but it’s hard to tell. It’s going to be a while. I believe Virat Kohli would advise you to concentrate on this issue initially. If they win this World Cup, I believe it would be appropriate to express my gratitude. De Villiers said on his YouTube channel, “I am perhaps only going to play Test cricket for the next few years and a little bit of IPL, enjoy the latter part of my career, have enough family time, and say farewell to everyone.

But he is still intellectually present and in amazing health. He has sometimes taken a break, which I believe is a wise decision. So, he said, “I believe the hunger and the fire will still be there.

Sachin Tendulkar now holds the record for the most hundreds in one-day international cricket, but Virat Kohli has had a great career so far and is getting ever-closer to breaking it.

To catch up to his old partner and pass the batting great, Kohli needs two more hundreds, which he might do during the world cup.

De Villiers claims that Kohli is not motivated by personal records and is instead motivated by helping his team win championships.

“I don’t believe that’s his main concern. His major motivation is not that. He has never been a man who is all about himself. He aspires to help his team succeed in all game forms and win World Cups for his squad. He is a team player, and you can see that on the pitch even with all those emotions showing. Although he had nothing to gain, especially when fielding, you could feel his passion, which revealed how much it matters to him to win, according to De Villiers.
