Indian Grandmaster Vishwanathan Anand suffered a loss in the final round of the $ 150000 Legends of Chase online tournament against Vasyl Ivanchuk of Ukraine, his eighth defeat in the competition. Anand finished ninth. He was followed by Grandmaster Peter Lecco who finished last. All four games were drawn between Anand and Ivanchuk, after which the tiebreaker had to resort to the result but he also touched the par after 59 moves. The Ukrainian player played with the black pieces in the decider, so he was declared the winner.

Fifty-year-old Anand finished ninth with seven match points. He made his only win against Boris Gelfand, making his Magnus Carlson Tour debut.
