After negotiations with the administration, power department workers in UP cease their strike

After many rounds of negotiations between their leaders and the state's energy minister, A K Sharma, the staff of the Uttar Pradesh power department on Sunday called off their 72-hour strike.
At about 3 p.m. on Sunday, the striking workers who had begun their action at 10 p.m. on March 16 called it off.
Shailendra Dubey, convener of Vidyut Karmacharis Sanyukt Sangharsh Samiti, announced the strike's termination by saying, "Many rounds of discussions were conducted" (with the government). The energy minister enthusiastically promised to address our issues after hearing about them.
We have chosen to end our 72-hour symbolic protest one day in early due to intense public interest, while also honouring the Chief Minister's (Yogi Adityanath) instructions, the productive engagement with the minister of energy, and the high court. "I congratulate the personnel of the power department for calling off their protest," UP Energy Minister Sharma said in a statement to media after the meeting. I would ask them to tell their coworkers to go back to work, particularly in areas where the power supply was cut off, whether it be a feeder or a sub-station. Sharma said that the samiti had many rounds of discussions.
"Some of the discussion topics were recorded. We'll discuss things and attempt to bring them to a logical conclusion, the minister promised.
