Akhilesh Yadav: "BJP Will Be Finished For Misusing Central Agencies"

Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party, said on Sunday that the BJP will lose political support in the coming days "exactly as the Congress" for "misusing" government institutions against opposition parties.

Yadav pushed for the caste census as well, claiming that it will be a crucial topic in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. "The BJP is misusing the government agencies in the same way that the Congress did in the past. Congress has concluded. He said at a news conference here that the BJP will also suffer a similar fate.

He said that the Congress "backtracked" on its vow to undertake a caste census during the UPA-2 administration. "We want the caste census to be carried out by the BJP-led national government. Several leaders have pushed for it. Yet, much like the Congress, the saffron party is not enthusiastic about holding it, Yadav added.

When asked what the prospective opposition front's strategy would be before the general elections, Yadav said that it wouldn't be made public. "We won't disclose the opposition front's strategy; the objective is to defeat the BJP," he stated.
