Two days ahead of schedule, on Saturday, the state Assembly adjourned sine die after the House approved the planned income expenditure (budget) for the fiscal year 2024–2025.
In order to approve the proposed budget year 2024–2025, Uttar Pradesh Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna brought the Uttar Pradesh Appropriations Bill, 2024, before the House. Speaker of the Assembly Satish Mahana said that the bill has passed with the support of the majority of members.
On February 5, Finance Minister Khanna submitted a Rs 7,36,437 crore budget to the Assembly.
Speaker of the Assembly Mahana and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Suresh Khanna thanked all party leaders and members for their participation in the House’s proceedings.
The Assembly’s budget session was set to take place from February 2 to February 12. The Assembly’s business was set for February 12 in a letter that Principal Secretary Pradeep Kumar Dubey delivered to the MLAs.
