Focus on toll collection, no security arrangements on the highway

Fog has put brakes on the speed of vehicles. Accidents are happening on National Highway-19 every day, but the team of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) Mathura section is focused only on toll collection. There are no security arrangements. On Sunday, the Jagran team investigated the highway from Runkata to Waterworks. The highway in the urban area is 16 km. There is no proper broom and garbage is not being picked up every day. Illegal cuts have not been closed yet.
Jagran team reached Runkta first. When we proceeded from here, there were heaps of garbage everywhere on the service road. In many places there were illegal cuts. These have not been closed yet. The service road is broken at many places. Signage is not installed in front of Shastripuram Rail Over Bridge. The highway cut has been closed. The service road of Sikandra Underpass is broken. Heaps of garbage were found near the mandi. Nala choked. The same is the case with ISBT, Khandari, Sultanganj Ki Pulia and near Waterworks Flyover.
CCTV cameras are closed: CCTV cameras were installed on the highway a month ago. It hasn't been enabled yet. The work of the culvert is incomplete: The team of NHAI Agra division has not completed the construction of the culvert in front of Asaram Public School. It is not connected to the drain of Sikandra Industrial Area. One lane not yet commissioned: The second lane of the ISBT flyover from Sikandra to Khandari was to be operational by the second week of January, but this lane has not been made operational yet. Vehicles are passing through the service road. No safety arrangements on the highway
Signage is not installed at prescribed distance.
Ambulances are not parked in urban areas.
Illegal cuts have not been closed.
Every day the broom is not being cleaned properly.
Garbage is not being picked up.
Street lights are off in Waterworks and Sikandra area.
The grill is broken at many places from Runkata to the waterworks.
Drain cleaning is not being done properly.
There are no tapes on the bend. Orders were given for proper security arrangements on National Highway-19. There will be a point wise review soon.
Amit Gupta, Divisional Commissioner Highway should be properly broomed and garbage should be lifted. Water sprinkling is also necessary so that the soil does not fly away.
Nikhil Tikaram, Municipal Commissioner, vehicles running on Yamuna Expressway even after implementation of speed restrictions . Speedometers have also been installed at 20 places for time monitoring of vehicles by Yamuna Expressway Authority around Khandauli, Mathura and Jewar toll. Most of these are bad. One of the standards of road safety was the 164 Emergency Call Boxes installed at the time of the commencement of the Expressway. After a few days it got worse. Now they have been uprooted. Emergency call boxes are no longer visible anywhere on the expressway. Most of the CCTV cameras installed at 48 places on road ups and downs and at toll plazas are faulty. Tulsiram Gurjar, Khandauli toll in-charge of Yamuna Expressway told that the emergency call box is bad.
