There is no sign of fog yet and the Railways has already issued a list of cancellations of all its important trains. 18 trains including Prayagraj Sangam - Chandigarh Unchahar have been included in this list. The special thing is that the cancellation of these trains is not for a week or two, but for three months. In such a situation, the passengers who have booked their tickets on the respective trains in the past will now have to cancel their reserved tickets under compulsion.
Railways are assuming that there will be fog during the period from December 1 to February 28. For this reason, while 18 trains will remain completely canceled during these three months, the frequency of many trains has also been reduced. That is, out of the trains which are running every day, some trains will run only three to four days a week during this period.
Krishna Murari of Malviya Nagar told that he had to go to Karnal next month to attend a marriage ceremony with his family. Had made a reservation with Unchahar Express two months back. Now the train is canceled. So now another option has to be found. On the other hand, Magh Mela is also held along with Sahalag during the period of cancellation. In such a situation, the devotees coming during the Magh Mela may also face problems due to the cancellation of trains.
Railways reduced the frequency of 26 trains
During the period from December 1 to February 28, the Railways reduced the frequency of 26 trains passing through Prayagraj Junction and all the railway stations of the North Central Railway. In this, Ajmer-Sealdah Express, North East Express, Delhi-Azamgarh, Chhapra-Durg Sarnath, etc. trains will run three days instead of every day. Similarly, the Anand Vihar-Bhagalpur Express will run once a week instead of thrice, and Swatantrata Senani Express will run one day instead of every day.
Trains were canceled even after installing fog safe device
Every time lakhs of rupees are spent and all the preparations are done to deal with the fog. Recently, it was told by the North Central Railway that a fog-safe device has been installed in the locomotives to deal with the fog. Talking about North Central Railway, a fog device has been installed in 978 trains passing through here. With the help of this, the loco pilot starts getting signals and track-clearing signals one and a half kilometers in advance. At present, 850 devices are installed in the Prayagraj division, 558 in Jhansi, and 376 in the Agra division.
This decision is impractical. The railway should take back the decision of canceling the train. Trains can be delayed for three to four hours in a maximum fog. In such a situation, the passengers will reach their destination. If needed, this matter will be raised in the House as well. Keshari Devi Patel, Member of Parliament, Railway Board Parliamentary Committee
It is not foggy now. When there is fog, the train should be canceled according to the situation. The decision to cancel trains for three months from now is not correct. This decision should be withdrawn.
