In the meeting of G-7 countries held in Germany, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had taken one unique gift from India to the leaders of all the countries. In which German Chancellor Olaf Scholz was presented with a carved pot of Moradabad on behalf of the Prime Minister. The carved Matka is a sample of four hundred years old Iranian art.
According to the information, Iranian craftsmen used this carving on the handle (grip part) of the sword and the lower part of the arrow. In Moradabad, this carving is used on pots, jugs, water bottles, and other home decorative items. Carving work is done in the Pirzada locality of Moradabad. About twenty thousand people are associated with this work.
This is how carved Matka is prepared
Brass is the first cast and then milled. After this the polishing work takes place. Finally, the hand carving is done. This is a very fine job. It takes a lot of time. There is also plain carving and there is also color carving.
