Kaushambi (UP). The policemen who were arrested in Saini police station area to apprehend the accused in the case of theft, were attacked by the women of the family of the accused along with the villagers, seriously injuring a sub-inspector and a constable. Ramveer Singh, the jurisdiction officer of Sirathu, said on Thursday that three people, including the mother of the accused and a woman, have been arrested in this connection. Singh said that two brothers Pintu and Sintu Kadadham, residents of Narsinghpur tortoise village of Saini police station area, are accused of stealing oil from electric transformers in Daranagar village of Thanakshetra.
He said that on Wednesday, Kadadham police station sub-inspector Krishnaraj Singh and constable Dilip Singh Yadav went to his village to arrest Pintu and Sintu. As the policemen approached the accused's house, Pintu and Sintu's mother Priya along with other villagers attacked the policemen. The CO said that the sub-inspector and constable were seriously injured in the attack. The attackers also snatched the sub inspector's service revolver. He said that a case has been registered against six people in this regard. Three people, including Priya and another woman, have been arrested. The stripped service revolver has been recovered. The injured policemen have been admitted to the district hospital for treatment.
