Police have arrested and sent 9 people accused of assaulting a maulvi and assaulting a loudspeaker by cutting into a mosque in Govardhan town of Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh. . It is alleged that on May 3, all these accused forcefully entered the mosque of Govardhan's market and broke the wire of loudspeaker while scrambling with the cleric. After this incident came to light, there was a situation of tension in the area. However, the UP Police has arrested all the culprits within three days.
Inspector Pradeep Chaudhary, in-charge of Govardhan police station, said that all the accused youths who broke into the mosque of Bada Bazaar on Monday and grapple with the cleric have been arrested. The station in-charge said that in this case Maulvi Mohammad Riaz had filed a complaint with the police. It was said in the complaint that the accused climbed on the roof of the mosque and removed the wire of the loudspeaker and took away the trumpet. He said that on the basis of the complaint, Vishnu Nagar, Rakesh alias Rocky, Sagar, Pawan Mishra, Ragan, Vishnu alias Mota, Saurabh Lumberdar, Dheeraj Kaushik and Lokesh have been arrested and sent to jail.
Case filed for assault and property damage by cleric
