UP government would get Rs 4L Cr as the massive influx of devotees continues

A day after the deity’s dedication, Ram Lalla received donations totaling more than Rs 3 crore because of the large number of people who traveled to Ayodhya in order to see the god. Numerous national and international estimations indicate that if the trend continues, Uttar Pradesh’s economy is set to benefit.

According to a recent SBI Research study, the state of Uttar Pradesh may expect tax receipts of up to Rs 5,000 crore in 2024–25 as a result of the Ram temple and efforts being made by the state and federal governments in Ayodhya to turn it into a popular tourist destination.

A commendable step that brings the state closer to its goal of having an economy of $1 trillion USD. According to the research, Ayodhya would play a major role, and UP might gain over Rs 4 lakh crore in revenue this year due to the predicted rise in tourists.

Even the foreign stock market research company Jefferies predicts that Ayodhya would soon exceed Mecca and Vatican City in terms of tourists. Notably, a day after consecration, a sizable throng flocked to the temple town, with over five lakh devotees receiving Ram Lalla’s darshan and an equal number patiently waiting for their turn.

According to the research, Ayodhya is predicted to draw almost five crore worshipers each year, making it a popular tourist attraction in India as well as in Uttar Pradesh.

In fact, Tirupati Balaji, one of the most well-known shrines in Andhra Pradesh, draws 2.5 million worshippers a year and brings in an estimated Rs 1200 crore in income. Similar to this, the Vaishno Devi temple receives over 80 lakh tourists annually, bringing approximately Rs 500 crore in income.

One of the most popular tourist sites, the Taj Mahal brings in over Rs. 1,000 crore a year from its 70 lakh visitors. An official from the government said that more than a lakh pilgrims are anticipated to visit Ayodhya every day, and the figure may rise as high as three lakh. “Ayodhya’s economy would grow by Rs 25,000 crore if every visitor spent about Rs 2,500 during their stay,” he said. Ministers are invited to visit the temple in March, per the PM’s request.
