UP: Meerut cops hide a gun on a teacher’s bicycle and detain him for smuggling weapons

Police in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, found a handgun on a coach center teacher’s motorbike, leading to his arrest and detention on suspicion of smuggling weapons. The gun was supposedly put by a police officer, and CCTV purportedly captured him doing it, but that was the catch in this situation.

Even yet, the guy was not immediately released due to the evidence from the house’s CCTV camera. To tell their side of the tale, the teacher’s sister was forced to spend the whole night outside the Inspector General of Police’s residence in Meerut. The guy was finally released following a 15-hour ordeal, according to a story.

According to reports, the teacher’s family had a past argument with a neighboring household. On the’request’ of the other family, the two constables reportedly placed the gun and detained the instructor. Both constables have been moved to police duty, and an investigation is being conducted.

Two police officers can be seen on surveillance video entering the teacher Ankit Tyagi’s home in Meerut’s Kharkhoda at approximately 8 p.m. on Tuesday. On Tyagi’s bike, which is parked inside the building, one of the police officers is seen placing the weapon.

Later, Tyagi, who was occupied inside, is captured by the two of them and brought outside. The stated handgun is subsequently seen being removed from his bike by police officers.

The firearm that was found inside the teacher’s bike was shown to him at the Kharkhoda police station. While Tyagi was being detained, police filed allegations of guns trafficking against him.

Rakhi Tyagi, who was holding her newborn in her arms, hurried to the Meerut Police Inspector General’s office and begged them to allow her show the IG the CCTV tape. Her request was turned down, nevertheless. Since the IG’s home was located on the same grounds, Rakhi waited there all night in the hopes that she would be permitted to meet with him.

“Two officers visited our home. My younger brother has been charged in an unfounded investigation. Rakhi was reported by NDTV as stating, “First they put the weapon on the bike, and then they arrested him.

At around 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Rakhi was finally given permission to meet with the IG. A few hours after she showed him the video and complained, Ankit was fired.

“The policemen’s actions seem to be questionable in some way. Investigation is being conducted, according to SP (Rural) Kamlesh Bahadur Singh.
