UP: Ritesh Pandey, the BSP MP from Ambedkar Nagar, resigns and is expected to join the BJP today

Ritesh Pandey, a member of parliament for the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) representing Ambedkar Nagar Lok Sabha seat, resigned as the party’s main member. Amidst rumors that he would be joining the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) in advance of the next Lok Sabha elections, he has tendered his resignation.

On Sunday morning, Ritesh Pandey posted on social media to announce his resignation from the BSP, which is run by Mayawati.

Pandey is reportedly planning to join the BJP today.

He thanked party leaders for allowing him to represent in the Lok Sabha and Uttar Pradesh Assembly in his resignation letter to party president Mayawati. He thanked the staff members for their advice and assistance.

He also expressed his displeasure with the party’s lack of acknowledgment over a prolonged period of time. He said, “I haven’t been involved in social events or in a leadership role for a long time.” I have tried and failed to get in touch with you and other high-ranking officials to set up meetings.

“I continued to meet party members and supporters both locally and abroad throughout this time, and I also kept up my area work. I’ve decided that in this case, the party no longer need my assistance or attendance. As a result, my only choice is to withdraw from my main party membership. It’s an extremely challenging choice to sever relations with the party,” he said.

Notably, Pandey lauded PM Modi in a social media post following their lunch meeting ten days earlier, sparking rumors that he may join the BJP.
